The Estate of Sylvia Moy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered at Masterpiece Sound Studios in Detroit, established by the heirs of Sylvia Moy, Motown’s first female songwriter and producer.
Core Mission:
Honor accomplished songwriters and preserve Detroit’s rich music history.
Support emerging independent creators through music education and professional development.
Key Initiatives:
Masterpiece Sound Studios: Serves as the operational hub for professional audio engineering and music production training.
Educational Outreach: Runs hands-on/ internet based programs in partnership with the Motown Alumni Association titled “Motown in the Studio” for students and young artists.
Cover Song Contests: Sponsors talent competitions to introduce classic music catalogs to new generations.
